We are proud to be working in partnership with London Learning Consortium to offer a Sport Traineeship programme, starting on 7th February 2022.
Aimed at young people aged 16 – 24 year’s old (25 with Educational Health Care Plan). An 11 week sport traineeship programme where you will get nationally recognised qualifications and a ten day sports work experience with the Harlequins Foundation.
Supporting young people, through traineeships and programmes such as our HITZ Learning Academy, to develop the Essential Skills, that ultimately move them demonstrably closer to achieving employment, is central to our beliefs.
Similar to our HITZ programme Traineeships are a fantastic way for young people to gain vital experience in a field they are interested in pursuing as a career. This programme will not only improve young peoples understanding of The Essential Skills, but will provide them with explicit opportunities to practice them, and ensure they are able to articulate them to potential future employers.
This traineeship opportunity includes work preparation training, functional skills Maths and English support for those who require it and a high-quality work experience placement.
As part of this sport traineeship programme you will do the following:
- Award for activators qualification
- Certificate in customer service
- Digital skills
- Personal development for employability
- Functional Skills in Maths and English (if you do not already have GCSE or equivalent at Grade 4/C or above in these)
- Two weeks (ten days) sports coaching work experience with the Harlequins Foundation
The Traineeship Programme is a practical and engaging route to employment for young people aged 16-24 (up to the age of 25 with an EHCP), and gives you a 70-hour work placement with an exciting employer matched with your career interests.
